I'm working on my Christmas cards for this year, I've got a couple more in the hatch!

Just finished a weekend workshop with Mike Hernandez learning about gouache landscape painting. The first day we spent at Vasquez rocks, where it was 93 degrees and sunny, and the second day we spent at Laguna Beach, where it was 60 degrees and overcast. I ended up sunburned both days :)
"A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting." - Henry David Thoreau
These are some sketches I did in my journal while I was tromping about in Australia. I had more opportunities to draw while we were on the coast, so that's why more of these are ocean critters! I've also got some lizards and landscapes from hiking and a few architecture sketches from Russia but I'm going to save travel sketches for weeks when I'm too busy to do anything new :)
My christmas gift this year from my amazing and ridiculously good-looking boyfriend was a week snowboarding in Lake Tahoe with some great friends, Tim and Crystal. The week was spent learning many new things, including but not limited to: successfully jumping over things on a snowboard, how to play guitar hero and all the lyrics to the 80's hit "Heat of the the Moment", and that before you attempt to take a dip in a freezing lake, check the depth because a lot of them don't get deeper until really far out into the water.
